Slub Yarn
Polyester & Cotton Slub Yarn Supplier in Pakistan
Slub yarn carries deliberate thick-and-thin variation along its length, so the fabric it makes reads as textured and hand-made rather than flat and uniform. Perception Impex supplies polyester slub yarn and cotton slub yarn wholesale, spun to your count, slub effect and blend by mills in our network.
Overview
Premium slub yarn, sourced at scale
The slub is engineered, not a fault. On a ring frame fitted with a slub attachment, the draft is varied to a set pattern so thicker segments appear at controlled intervals. Three settings decide the look: slub length, slub thickness relative to the base yarn, and the pitch between slubs. Change them and the same count produces anything from a barely-there texture to a pronounced, irregular character.
Polyester slub is the usual choice where the fabric has to hold that texture through heavy use and repeated laundering — linen-look woven shirting, upholstery and home textiles — because polyester resists the flattening and shrinkage that would soften the effect. Cotton slub is the choice next to the skin, where breathability and a natural handle matter more, and it is what gives casual tees and jersey their lived-in surface.
Tell us the fabric, the weight and the look you are after, and we will work back to the count, blend and slub setting rather than asking you to specify them cold. Samples are available before you commit to a bulk order.

FAQ
Slub Yarn questions, answered
What is slub yarn?
Slub yarn is yarn spun with deliberate thick-and-thin variation along its length. The thicker segments, called slubs, are produced by varying the draft on a ring frame fitted with a slub attachment. Woven or knitted, the result is an uneven, textured surface with a natural, hand-made character rather than the flat uniformity of a standard yarn.
What is polyester slub yarn used for?
Polyester slub is used where the texture has to survive hard wear and repeated laundering: linen-look woven shirting, upholstery fabric, curtains and home textiles. Polyester resists the shrinkage and flattening that would soften the slub effect over time, so the fabric keeps its character longer than a cotton equivalent would.
Do you supply slub yarn wholesale?
Yes. We supply polyester, cotton and blended slub yarn in bulk to manufacturers, garment exporters, knitting and weaving units in Pakistan and abroad, on our standard 500 bags per month minimum with 30, 60 and 90 day payment terms available. Samples can be sent before a bulk order is placed.
Can the slub effect be made to our specification?
Yes. Slub length, slub thickness relative to the base yarn, and the pitch between slubs are all adjustable, and each changes the finished look considerably. If you have an existing fabric or a swatch you are matching, send it — working back from a reference is far more reliable than specifying the settings from scratch.
What is the difference between slub yarn and fancy yarn?
Slub yarn is one type of fancy yarn. Fancy yarn is the broader category for any yarn spun to a deliberate irregularity or effect, which also covers loop, snarl and knop yarns among others. Slub specifically means the thick-and-thin variation along the length, and it is by far the most widely used of the group in apparel and home textiles.
